I'll start...
Borrowed a family friend's car since it was a weekday and both my parents' cars were unavailable.

2003 GMC Envoy XL. I actually took down a tree branch during the test (DMV's starting line had some low hanging trees). Nothing like a vehicle so large, the parking brake and a curb can't contain it...

In TX we didn't have to take a test if we did driver's ed school.
But my school had us drive these back in the day.

1988 Chevy Caviler. Did it during a flood in Auburn, WA. There was 6" of water in most places. Made the parallel parking test pretty easy as the lady had no interest in getting out and moving the cones closer to fit the car.

This without the ricer bits. Driving instructor liked bright colours. When I started he had a text-marker yellow Astra F. One day he had me drive around the lot at the local VW dealership, asking if I could spot his new car. It wasn't hard.

This piece of magnificence. Although I kind of wish I had my Sentra back then to scare the shit out of the instructor.

One of these, white like this one but the hubcaps weren't so nice. The punch line is, I had learned to drive, and had all my driving experience, in my parents's mid-60s VW Beetles, but the day I went to take the test neither of them were available, so my friend Dean lent me his '67 Catalina, with its 4-barrel carbureted 389. I utterly failed the parallel parking test, but after I explained the business about the Beetles the examiner gave me a break and let it slide.

1999 Oldsmobile Intrigue. Looked just like this one:
I'd been learning to drive in a minivan, so the smaller size of this threw me off the first time I took the test in it, and I failed the parallel parking horribly. I somehow passed the test during a nasty rainstorm later on though.

2004 Impala. Big car, decent visibility, easy to parallel park. Of course it was my only serious option at the time, the next available would have been an '85 Chevy NOPE van.

The DMV. When I turned 16, taking a driving test wasn't part of the requirement so I just showed up with my certificate stating that I had completed drivers ed and got my license.

My mom has this car (a '98) and lent it to my niece to take her test - easier than parallel parking a BMW 7 series, the car she drove to high school.

What is sad I don't remember if it was the driving schools Civic or a Camry. (It has been 18 years too which doesn't help LOL) All I remember it was dark red and automatic.

I did it in my mother's 99 Crown Victoria Police Interceptor. Even funnier, the instructor doing the test was in training, so a cop came with and rode in the back seat, much to everyone's amusement.
I failed the test because I ran over a curb. I didn't even notice it. True story.

I started in a Corsa, but had most of my lessons in a DS3. The Corsa was shite, the DS3 was quite nice, and I think my 106 is more fun than either.

I took (and passed) my test in my parents' 1976 Triumph 2500TC, complete with four-speed manual transmission and Laycock overdrive (though minus the door ding and fender crease seen in the photo – those were both my fault, but later on).
The highway section of the test involved a steep mountain road, and I remember the instructor voicing his approval at my smooth cornering and ability to double-declutch. With gobs of body roll and a gearbox that was past its prime, both of those skills were pretty much mandatory for successful operation of that vehicle!

First time- 1976 (I think) Honda CVCC. Failed that one (stupid mistake), so the next time I took it in an AMC Concord. Both belonged to family friends. We had two land yachts ('74 Caddy/ '75 Impala) at the time, so I was looking for something easier to parallel park.

Give it a U.S. license plate and you'll have the right idea (1995 E300 Diesel). Super slow but otherwise very easy to drive and park.
